| Call it an impulse buy, but I just couldn't let anyone else have this puppy! I swore to myself that I'd never buy another Whippet from anyone, and I never planned to own a race bred dog, but I did and now I do. Turns out that I'll be co-owning Lilly with Leslie Carroll (Entwood Borzoi) up in Eastern Pennsylvania. Lilly will be spending her time split between my house and Entwood. That's going to give her double the chance of getting to go out running on any given weekend! Lilly got to spend three days at the Jersey Rag Racer's Versatility competition over the 4th of July and even got to go out and attack the lure. She attacked that lure with a vengeance, biting and shaking it for all she was worth, considering that the lure is twice her size! Lilly came home with me on July 12th accompanied by her litter brother, Tux, and on July 25th we made a dash down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to do a photo shoot with my friend Jeannie Harrison of Close Encounters of the Furry Kind. I think we got some really nice pictures of Lilly and Tux. On August 3rd we started an 8 week puppy obedience class and three days before she turned 5 months old, she passed the Canine Good Citizens (CGC) test. I was very proud of her!! Lilly will be spending the winter in PA with Leslie Carroll and the Entwood Borzoi (and various other sighthounds) and Leslie will be working with her on her obedience skills as well as some race training. |
